Uploading Phenotypes as a PGP participant
The ways to upload relevant phenotypes such that it will be picked up by our ranking method are as follows:
Performing Survey Questionaires
The quickest way to contribute phenotypes to the PGP is to perform the available survey questionnaires. To do so, login to your PGP account. Then click on the "Participant surveys" option under the "Participate" tab. That will show you a list of surveys available for you to take. See the image below.
One can also perform the "Absolute Pitch survey" here or provide Geographical information such as state and zip-code here.
Uploading a CCR XML document generated from Microsoft Healthvault
Currently, we suggest using Microsoft Healthvault which is available for free as a way to generate a Continuity of Care Record (CCR) XML document reporting your phenotypes (not CCD which is a different format). This document can then be uploaded to your PGP account and displayed on your public profile. To upload a CCR XML document, click on "Import health records" option under the "Participate" tab. That will bring you to the webpage to upload your CCR XML document. Also, do note that only your lastest CCR XML document that you upload will be active. See the image below.
Uploading a phenotypes.csv document generated using Excel
Finally, while it has not been initially performed for previous rankings, we plan to also include the phenotypes uploaded by participants in csv (comma seperated values) format. To do so, download the template or create a csv file with Excel with a header row of "Phenotype", "Value" and "Timestamp", i.e. 3 columns. These headers are necessary and your contributed phenotypes should start with the next row. If you download the template and use it, delete the 3 example phenotypes and put in your own. Add as many phenotypes that you are willing to contribute into the file as additional rows of data. Use the "Timestamp" field to indicate when the measurement of the phenotype was taken or diagnosed. Once you have filled in all the phenotypes and their corresponding values, save the file as a csv file and upload the file using the "Upload genetic & other files" option with Data type being "health records - PDF or text" and Name of your file (publicly shared) as "phenotypes" (See below). Doing so will allow our method to access the data and include them in your overall score and P-index. As this is something new that we are trying, the instructions here are subjected to change and we will report the changes here if there are any.
